Bayern Munich will try to tempt Spurs into selling them Harry Kane but Man Utd remain frontrunners to land the England striker. Also: Liverpool want two Brighton midfielders…
BAYERN TO TEST SPURS WITH KANE BID
Manchester United would like to sign Harry Kane this summer. But so too would Bayern Munich.
Kane will enter the final year of his contract at Tottenham, which makes the England captain a more attainable target for United and Bayern. Daniel Levy, of course, will demand top dollar for his club’s record goalscorer, but the fact Kane could leave for nothing in 12 months removes much of Spurs’ leverage.
With that in mind, The Independent says Bayern are willing to test Levy’s resolve with a ‘persuasive offer’ for the 29-year-old. Ideally, the Bundesliga giants would prefer a younger No.9 but they recognise an opportunity to land one of the game’s great goalscorers.
If Levy has to sell, then he would doubtless prefer to ship Kane to the continent. But the player would much rather remain in England while he chases Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record, which makes United his preferred destination should he move on. Which is by no means certain. Levy can enhance his chances of keeping Kane with his next pick of Spurs manager.
UNITED, REDS, BLUES QUEUE UP FOR SEAGULLS STAR
It seems that Alexis Mac Allister is rather more set on securing a big move this summer. Which is good news for United, as well as Chelsea and Liverpool.
Mac Allister looks likely to be the next cab off the Brighton rank following a fine season, in the middle of which he became a World Cup winner with Argentina.
The player’s father, Carlos, said this week: “Normally, the next window will find him playing for another club. We don’t know which one. Talks are just beginning but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing for another team in July.”
Knowing Tony Bloom, that will only happen if one of Mac Allister’s suitors stumps up big money. The Guardian says the Seagulls are currently deciding how much they intend to charge for the midfielder, though it has been claimed that £80million will secure Moises Caicedo’s signature.
Apparently, Liverpool have both Mac Allister and Caicedo on their list of targets, and United are similarly keen on both. Chelsea are looking only at Mac Allister, with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone also on their radar.

REAL EYE CUT-PRICE CHELSEA DEFENDER
Chelsea will have to raise some funds before their next splurge in the transfer market and Real Madrid seem to think there could be a bargain to be had.
Marca says the European champions fancy their chances fo landing Reece James for a cut-price fee, perhaps as little as £44million, while Todd Boehly looks to trim Chelsea’s squad while falling into line with FFP regulations.
The Blues could also raise cash by selling Mason Mount, with Liverpool most keen to land the England attacker. But 90min says Chelsea are feeling confident of persuading the to renew his contract which is currently due to expire in 2024.
