Next four fixtures after beating Fulham

Liverpool are so used to competing on multiple fronts at this stage of the season under Jurgen Klopp, but it’s just the Premier League here on out for the German’s Reds.

2022/23 has been a season of indifference for a club that came ever so close to securing a historic quadruple last time out.

A myriad of factors have been at play in Liverpool’s demise, but a mini-resurgence of five straight wins has given supporters hope that the Reds are once again on an upward trajectory heading into a mammoth summer.

Here’s who Liverpool face in their final four games of the 2022/23 Premier League season, although with time running out, Europa League football next term is almost inevitable.

Brentford were at risk of falling into bottom-half obscurity, but their recent run has reignited hopes of a top-half finish.

The Bees, who beat Liverpool 3-1 in the reverse fixture at the start of the year, are poised for a ninth-place finish and a points haul comfortably in excess of 50. Both would indicate an improvement on their debut season, in which they finished 13th with 46 points.

Leicester’s recent three-game unbeaten streak has given many confidence that Dean Smith will save them, but anything can happen during the run-in. Liverpool have won just five of their 17 away Premier League games this season, but they’ve managed six points from their last two on the road.

Aston Villa’s remontada under Unai Emery has been one of the stories of the second half of the season. The Villans are bound to earn European football for the 2023/24 campaign, and it looks like they’ve got ex-Barcelona director Mateu Alemany heading their way as well.

Everything is on the up at Villa Park!

For Emery’s side to usurp Liverpool in the table come the end of the season, they’ll likely have to win at Anfield on the penultimate matchday.

Liverpool’s 2022/23 season concludes on the south coast with a trip to Southampton.

The Saints will surely be relegated by the time the Reds take a visit, which should make for a more comfortable and relaxed afternoon for Klopp’s side.
