Mbappe received ‘social media attacks’ by accounts contracted by PSG

Social media accounts contracted by Paris Saint-Germain attacked media outlets and employees of the club, including Kylian Mbappe, as per a Mediapart investigation.

After Mbappe initially expressed a desire to play elsewhere, he was bombarded with negative messages on social media from apparent fans of the Parisien club.

It was revealed on Wednesday that French outlet Mediapart reported that PSG had engaged an external agency to create an army of fake Twitter accounts, used to provoke social media campaigns against the media and club personalities, including the 23-year-old.

The French champions were contacted by Mediapart, telling them: “The club has never contracted an agency to harm individuals or institutions.”

A Twitter account by the name of Paname Squad was referenced in the report.

“The Parisian supporters love you very much, you know that. You got your message across tonight… if you could press like that on the pitch,” the account wrote.

Months prior when Mbappe confirmed he would not join Real Madrid, the Paname account tweeted: “Now, work in silence and be discreet. No need for too many declarations. We need a response on the pitch.”

After denying the rumours to the French news publication, PSG told RMC Sport: “The club has never contracted an agency to harm individuals or institutions.

“Do you really think we hire people to troll our own players? It’s absolutely nothing to do with the club.

“We spent the last year renewing Mbappe with the biggest contract in world sport and involving President Macron, and you think that at the same time we were trolling him?”

Mbappe has been all over football news websites this week after news broke that he no longer wants to play for PSG.

And now Le Parisien are reporting that the France forward is ‘more likely’ to leave next summer as opposed to the winter transfer window.

Mbappe’s ‘broken relationship’ with the Ligue 1 club is after they failed to fulfil a number of promises made in order to convince him to agree to sign a new contract.

He was told by the club they would sign a new striker to play alongside him as well as another central defender.

Mbappe has operated through the middle by himself under Christophe Galtier with Lionel Messi and Neymar playing either side of him.

He apparently doesn’t like playing this role and prefers to have a tall No. 9 – such as France teammate Olivier Giroud – next to him.

The World Cup winner is particularly frustrated with Paris president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and is concerned with Galtier’s 3-4-3 system.

Real Madrid have been interested in signing the young forward for a while and battled with PSG for his signature before he penned a new deal in the French capital.

PSG are apparently unwilling to let Mbappe join the European champions, however, opening the door for a team like Liverpool to pounce.
