Liverpool have ‘enough resources’ to sign wantaway Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.
It has been widely reported this week that Mbappe wants to leave the French club.
The France forward apparently feels ‘betrayed’ over ‘false promises’, with his relationship with the Parisiens ‘completely broken’.
Real Madrid did everything they could to lure the young player to the Bernabeu with his contract set to expire this summer.
However, PSG promised him the world and more and Mbappe renewed his contract in the French capital.
He is unhappy to be playing through the middle by himself under Christophe Galtier and was apparently told by the club’s president that he would sign a new forward to play next to him, as well as another central defender.
These promises were not fulfilled, however, and Mbappe is not a happy bunny.
After Madrid proved stern competition, it has been said that PSG will not let the 23-year-old join the European champions if they do decide to sanction his sale.
A departure next summer is more likely than in the January window, if he is allowed to leave.
Liverpool were also in the mix earlier this year, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitting he was interested in making a deal happen.
The Premier League club are debatably his most likely destination, though he will be extremely expensive.
Having said that, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) are reporting that Liverpool have ‘enough resources’ to get the deal done.
Klopp is a huge ‘admirer’ of the French international and Liverpool get a mention from the Spanish publication.
Despite PSG director Luis Campos ruling out an exit, rumours are bound to circulate for the next year or so.
It is said that Liverpool are ‘attentive’ to the situation and despite Klopp previously ruling out a move, there is a chance Mbappe could move to Anfield.
The Reds have it in them to get a deal over the line and Mbappe has ‘never ruled out’ a move to Liverpool, which is a huge boost to their pursuit.
According to Marca, Liverpool and Real Madrid are the only possible destinations for the former Monaco teenager.
A move was previously impossible for the Merseyside club, however, it could come to fruition should PSG be willing to let him leave.
Their asking price is a slight stumbling block, however, with the player likely to cost ‘over €200million’.
Mbappe’s yearly salary is also in the region of €50m.
There have been rumours that Liverpool could include Mohamed Salah in a deal to sign Mbappe…
