Thierry Henry has encouraged Juventus to stick with Massimiliano Allegri and he has compared them to Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.
Allegri returned to Juventus last year as he replaced Andrea Pirlo.
Under him, they endured a tough season last season as they finished fourth in Serie A and exited the Champions League at the last-16 stage.
Their start to this campaign has been torrid as they find themselves down in eighth in Serie A. They have also been dumped out of the Champions League at the group stages.
Naturally, Allegri is under pressure but Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday morning that he is being backed by Juventus’ hierarchy.
“No changes on Massimiliano Allegri’s situation. Juventus won’t sack him and he won’t leave, despite another disappointing defeat to Benfica,” Romano wrote for Caught Offside.
“Andrea Agnelli confirmed his intention to continue with Allegri, whose current deal expires in June 2025”
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Allegri in recent weeks.
But Henry thinks they would be wise to stick with Allegri. When discussing the manager’s situation, he has likened Juventus’ situation to the process Arsenal have gone through with Arteta.
The Spaniard was under-fire last season after three losses at the start of the campaign but the Gunners have been rewarded for giving him their backing.
Arsenal now sit top of the Premier League under Arteta and Henry believes Allegri should be supported in the same way.
“We’ve seen it with Arteta,” Henry told CBS Sports.
“It took him two years to put a decent team on the field and people were having a go so are you going to stay with the man?
“Are you not going to stay with the man?”
Henry has also suggested that Zinedine Zidane will “wait” for the France job instead of joining Juventus.
“Zizou (Zidane) won the Champions League, Zizou proved that he can go (to a club like Juventus). He has proved he can win at a big club,” Henry continued.
“I’m not going to go there (if Zidane could win at Juventus). I think he’s waiting for the national team (France). So I’m not going to go there.
“I don’t think he will go there (Juventus). I think he is waiting for one thing and one thing only. The national team.
“He won three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid. Why are you going to bother with other clubs when you can have the national team? I wouldn’t.
“He’s been linked to a lot of clubs and it never happened. I don’t think Zizou would want to do it but this is me talking. Maybe he does want to do it.
“But I can see him waiting for the national team and it would make total sense.”
