Erik ten Hag can’t achieve what he wants at Man Utd and could leave the club if the Glazers stay in control of the club, according to Paul Parker.
The Red Devils have been much improved under the Dutchman this campaign with Man Utd currently sitting third in the Premier League table after winning the Carabao Cup earlier in the season.
Ten Hag could still lead them to more silverware this term with Man Utd still competing in the Europa League and FA Cup.
There has been criticism in the past about how much money the Glazers are taking out of the club with some Man Utd supporters feeling short-changed in the transfer market.
The Glazers are currently looking to sell the club but there are also reports that claim they will keep the club if they don’t get their £6bn asking price.
And Parker thinks the current takeover situation could lead to Ten Hag leaving Man Utd if he is not well backed in the summer transfer market.
Parker told BeMyBet: “Glazers are being greedy as always. They want to keep their majority and only sell a minority, which isn’t going to help Man United.
“Does this create speculation about Erik ten Hag wanting to be there? Are we asking that question enough? I think we have to. He knows where he can go and on what level he is able to be a manager on.
“To be honest, yes he is managing one of the biggest clubs in the world but he wants to achieve something and as it looks right now, he can’t do that in Man United.”
On Ten Hag’s impact, Parker added: “He has created miracles this season. But can he do it again next season with the same squad? Can he guarantee a Champions League spot and finish in the top four?
“He can’t do it. Not with this squad, and he knows that, just like the players do themselves. Most of the players are not going to improve.”
Parker continued: “The ownership situation at Man United right now is a big problem. Man United’s biggest problem since Sir Alex left has been the structure, especially in the transfer windows.
“Man United haven’t been early birds for many years now in the summer transfer window. The signings have been made very late and the signings were never really what the managers wanted because the big signings is often something that has to be done quite early.
“Erik ten Hag has the right to say which players he would like and he has earned the right to demand that the players should arrive early and that the players that have to leave should leave early as well so there is room for new players.”
